Japan Day 2014
On the 23rd of February this year was the annual Japan Day event held at the ASB showground’s.
Once again the Auckland branches came together to perform a demonstration. Unlike past years we had decided not to have a stand and just perform a demonstration. This year we were lucky to be allocated a peak time slot on the main stage.
Our demonstration team performed a modification of the demonstration they did at the Lantern Festival the previous weekend. They opened with an Embu performed by Sayaka and Manuel. It once again grabbed the audience’s attention. The rest of the demonstration consisted of group performances of technique mixed with Embu’s by Rachel and Mercedes, Sean and Rob, Kazuko and Kanae and finishing with an Embu by Steve and Take.
The audience really seemed to enjoy the show.
After the demonstration we separated and most of us spent some time wandering around the event enjoying all the Japanese food and displays.
Another successful demonstration completed, thank you to all the Kenshi who helped and took part.
